Our club is an invitation only international membership organization centered on sharing unique golf experiences with friends who are passionate about golf. We run multiple trips throughout the year where we remind each other of one simple fact−life is short and there are so many great courses to play.

About The Friars

The Friars was founded in 1994 by Tom Dwyer, an Arizona businessman. Tom wanted to create a traveling social golf club for business executives and professionals, along with their friends, fathers, sons and brothers, with a focus on 3 key values: (1) traveling to the world's great golf courses; (2) meeting and spending time with others who share a passion for playing these courses; and (3) most importantly, appreciating a great golf experience even when missing a bunch of 3-footers.

What began with Tom, his brothers and their friends has evolved over the last 20 years to be a diverse, international golfing fraternity. Membership in The Friars is by invitation only and limited to gentlemen who share our core values. Our motto "Golf is mostly about with whom you choose to play" truly guides us in every new member we admit and every trip we take. A trip with the Friars is about camaraderie and friendship – and maybe some fun competition thrown in.

  19th Annual Spring Shootout: Join us at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida from April 28th through 30th, 2013. Located outside Tampa, Black Diamond's Quarry Course is rated one of America's top 100. More info

  Ireland 2013: Party Éire style with the Friars from August 10th through 17th in Southwestern Ireland. Playing some of the finest courses in the Republic of Ireland, this trip highlights the gems of the Emerald Island. A must for any true golfer. More info

Ireland 2013

Dates: August 10th through August 17th, 2013
Location: Southwest Ireland

Southwestern Ireland features some of the best links style golf courses in the world. Join the Friars in 2013 in Ireland for this must do trip. Our trip highlights the best of the Emerald Isle with four star accommodations for seven nights, seven rounds of golf, full Irish breakfast every day, and luxury VIP coach with tour chauffeur.

• Day 1: Arrive at Shannon Airport and transfer to Killarney. Play Killarney Killeen Course.
• Day 2: Play one of Ireland’s best, Waterville.
• Day 3: Play at Tralee, a new course but one of the finest in the country with an unforgettable inward 9.
• Day 4: Play at Old Head Golf Links, certainly a highlight of the trip.
• Day 5: We move hotels to Teach de Broc across the street from Ballybunion. Play at Ballybunion Cashen Course.
• Day 6: Play Ballybunion Old Course, rated in the top 10 in the world!
• Day 7: Get a second crack at the Old Course. You’ll need it!
• Day 8: Transfer to Shannon Airport and your flight home.

Membership in The Friars is limited to individuals who share 3 key values: FIRST, they enjoy traveling to great golf courses and resorts; SECOND, they enjoy meeting and spending time with others who share the same passion; and THIRD, they appreciate a great golf experience even when missing a bunch of 3-footers.

Membership in The Friars is by invitation only. We make sure that every Friar understands our values and shares them. We do not tolerate jerks. Golf is a great game; golfing with folks who understand this is a great experience; playing the world's great golf courses with folks who understand this makes us very lucky people indeed.
