Upcoming Club Trips

We are planning some terrific trips over the coming 18 months. You will be receiving more detailed information about each. This is meant to only whet your appetite and allow you to mark the dates (when given) on your calendar.

If an expression of your interest is requested, please let us know with an e-mail reply.

Fall Team Championship and Club Championship

(Ocotber 10-11-12, 2004) at the beautiful Ocean Hammock Resort in Florida. This terrific golf resort, located near Daytona Beach, has one of the very finest golf courses in the country - Ocean Hammock. As at last year's Team Championship played at the Berkeley Hall Golf Club, 8-man teams will be put together by the Tournament Committee balancing out handicaps. Therefore, you do not have to find a partner for this event. We'll do all the work. Golf Invitations for this event will be mailed out this summer.

Spring Shootout - 2005

(May 15-16-17, 2005) at The Cloister (Sea Island, GA). Truly one of the world's top golf resorts and site of many professional and amateur tournaments both national and international. We have reserved two beautiful buildings to house our members. Similar to our recent Pebble Beach outing this June, the spots for The Cloister are limited and will go very quickly. We have negotiated a once-in-a-lifetime contract with this famous resort, so don't miss out. Golf Invitations for this event will be mailed out later this year.

Bandon Dunes & Pacific Dunes

(July 24-31, 2005). Rated as 2 of the top golf courses in the country, Bandon Dunes & Pacific Dunes in Oregon (ranked #6 & #9 by Golf Digest) will be our destination in the summer of 2005. Limited to a maximum of 16 golfers, spots for this trip will fill up very quickly, so don't delay. Our first round of golf, on Monday afternoon (July 25th) will be played at the Eugene Country Club. This is a beautiful private course (ranked in the Top 100 Private Courses) that will be the perfect way to kick off our golf trip. We'll then drive over to the Oregon Coast to Bandon Dunes where we'll stay for the next 5 nights and play golf each morning. As Bandon Dunes offers a 50% discount for the 2nd round of the day, I'm sure that most of the golfers will want to take advantage and play an afternoon round each day. Sunday (July 24th) and Saturday (July 31st) are your days to arrive and depart from Eugene. Cost for the this trip will be $2,300 per man (double occupancy). Prices may be adjusted slightly up once Bandon Dunes sets their 2005 rates, but any change should be ground transportation between Eugene and Bandon Dunes and 5-rounds of golf. Afternoon golf, caddy fees (Bandon Dunes is a walking course) and meals are extra. If you are interested in Single Occupancy, please let me know.

Contact Tom Dwyer immediately if you would like to reserve on the the 16 spots. A $300 non-refundable deposit will be required by August 1st.

Fall Team Championships-2005

(The Homestead Resort in White Sulphur Springs, WV). The date for this outing will be October 9-10-11, 2005. We don't have to tell you much about The Homestead, as its reputation is well known. As the spot where Sam Snead took up the game of golf, it boasts the #4 ranked course in the country - Cascades. This year's Men's NCAA Championships were held at The Homestead as well as many professional and amateur tournaments over the years. Golf Invitations for this outing will be mailed during the summer of 2005.

But thats not all. Although we have not yet begun to develop specifics, we are looking into golf trips (to include couples) to the followin locations - New Zealand, Thiland, Scotland, Spain, and Puerto Rico. If you are interested, please let us know. Without a definate expression of your interest, further planning efforts are not practical.

Pebble Beach Recap

To say that our Spring shootout recently held at the Pebble Beach Resort was and outstanding success would not do it justice. The 100 Friars participating in our 10th Anniversary Outing enjoyed both excellent weather and three of the finest golf courses imaginable - Pebble Beach Golf Links (ranked #1), Spyglass Hill (ranked #5) and the Links at Spanish Bay (rnaked #85).

As a special gift, each golfer received a beautiful colored golf print of the famous #8 hole on the Pebble Beach Golf Links. This painting was commissioned for The Friars and prints were limited to just 103 copies. Once framed, these prints will bring back some great memories for our members who came together in June of 2004.
